Mr. Squirrel

I saw this gray squirrel at Goldstream park last weekend and although he is a cute little guy, unfortunately he is an invasive species that are killing off the native red squirrels which are much smaller. Invasive plants and animals are becoming a huge problem in a lot of areas because they generally have little or no enemies and can be very hard to eliminate with out harming other species or the enviroment.

Condition: Critical

On friday I went to a Amensty International film festival on human rights that was looking at some of the chalenges being faced in Africa. Today I found this interesting video on just a few of the problems and hardships faced in the Congo.

Leaving

The joys of leaving Victoria on a Friday after work.

Stormy Exit

I was back in Lantzville for the weekend, although it rained most of the time I did manage to make it out to Neck Point for a little bit.

The First Rain Storm

The pacific northwest winter is here, it has been raining for a week straight and very windy. Last weekend there was a brief gap in the rain so I thought I would head over to Beacon Hill park, by the time I got there some mean clouds where rolling back in and soon after it really started to rain. I sat in the rain for about an hour or so before I got really cold a decided it was time to go home. By the time I got home it was nice and sunny, figures. I did manage to get some great shots with some very dramatic clouds though!
