This past weekend I was visiting Naniamo and spent a few hours enjoying the spring like weather down at Neck Point park. While I was there the tide was very low and a pair of Canadian Geese caught my eye on one of the little islands just off shore. Since the tide was low enough I was able to make it over fine, but on the way back I did get wet. The things you will do for a few photos!
I have been feeling under the weather the past few days but managed to get out for a bit this Saturday and made my way to Swan Lake. Looks like spring is on the way, there where a few signs fresh green sprouts. I got there a bit late but I did manage to capture a Song Sparrow (Melospiza Melodia) doing a little dance.
Today I have finally launched my latest project “Wild BC“. Wild BC is a project to document the natural beauty that is in British Columbia. Although BC is a very natural place there are still threats to this beautiful place. This site is meant to showcase theses beautiful areas and wildlife we have around us and make sure we protect it for generations to come. It has been raining here, a lot. Finally it managed to clear up for a little bit and I went for a walk down to Cattle point with the hopes of find some river otters to take photos of. I didn’t find any otters as it seems every one was out enjoying the brief pause in the rain. I am hoping the weather dries up a bit and I can find some otters soon!
On Saturday evening I was down at Esquimalt Lagoon to take in the sunset since the past few days we have had some nice pink/purple skies. Initially it looked like it was going to be a fairly sedate sunset but then in the last 10 minutes of daylight it managed to turn a nice pink hue. I was really hoping to get some different angles but was very limited if I wanted to include the sunset (I did), take what you can get I guess.
