Nikon D3X

It seems that the D3X has gained a bit more proof of existence as some references have showed up in the latests release of firmware. In the new firmware there was a list of the resolutions going all the way up to 24.4 Mega Pixels. I would assume it will be using the same sensor as the Sony A900, since Nikon has been using Sony sensors for some time. Should be interesting if this is the case but I am not holding my breath.

Flickr Updates

If you are a Flickr user you are bound to have noticed but if not they added the ability to add 90 second videos if you are a pro user. I can see why Flickr did this, they already have a large base of creative talent and I can see why they would like to capitalize on this but it has seemed to have annoyed much of the current users. Flickr was a site for photographers to share photos. Sure maybe some photographers take video as well but there are already places you can host this. I can see how Flickr (Yahoo) is trying to create a place for people to put more serious and user created video that would be of higher quality than else where but it should have been separate or at least allow users to filter out videos if they do not wish to see them. It will be interesting to see how this plays out and if this service is better adopted over time or if Flickr will make some changes. We will have to wait and see. That was not the only update though, the max image size has been upped as well, for free users you can now upload a 10MB file while pro users can upload a 20MB file.

Adobe Photoshop Express

Today Adobe Photoshop Express was released today. If you have not heard of it , it is a FREE online photo editing tool which has all the basic editing you would expect from Photoshop. You can sign up for the beta for free and you get 2GB of room to store your photos. I can see this being a great tool to quickly crop edit photos for blogs and such or when you are away from your main computer.

Free and Uneasy

A very sad and interesting story of a man who was wrongly convicted of a rape murder and was imprisoned for 16 years. The video is a year after his release. A very sad and empowering story that you should check out over at the New York Times.
